    Driving without the front halfshafts

Can I do it? Or will I fuck up the wheel bearings? Cause the race to separate or something?

My diff blew and I sold my e21 3 weeks ago. So great timing on that. So I pulled the front driveshaft and halfshafts. But I still need to get to work tomorrow.

No, you can't. The axle is what holds the hub in place (other than being pressed in) and the bearing would come apart like you said.

It would be a lot of work, but you could pull the axles apart and put just the splined stubs back in.

Yeah I figured. I already have one axle apart, I'll pull my busted axle apart for the other side.

i agree with andrew here. this is something i would never attempt on the road. it would be ok to move the car around your yard though.

I ended up not putting the ends of the axles in, just drove the 2002 for a week while I had another diff shipped to me.
