    325iX motor mount replacement

I referred to the Hayne's manual which only seems to address non iX models when it comes to specific repairs/replacement. Also searched a fair bit and there doesn't seem to be info on a DIY for motor mounts for an iX. I image the process is different due to the front subframe but I could be wrong.

    Anyone have any input?

The mounts are defiantly different, but as far as the whole process goes it should be the same as rwd e30's. Not sure if I answered your question or not.

      1) remove stuff that's in the way of access to the mounts from the top (airbox, etc).
      2) unbolt both motor mounts
      3) jack up engine from below, swap old mounts for new

I haven't done it that way, but that's how I would tackle it if I had to do it now. you could also loosen the sub frame bolts which would allow you to lower the sub frame about an inch, just be careful you don't let them all the way out and drop it on yourself..

This. The way I did it and worked great. Actually a pretty easy job. Done in a little over an hour. I ran my car up on ramps to get more clearance underneath.
