What to keep from totaled iX?

My 1989 automatic iX was totaled. Impact at front passenger side. Everything but the engine and affected body pieces should be okay. I'm having the car dismantled (don't have space to keep it as a parts car) and I want to make sure that I keep all the iX specific parts. I don't have storage room beyond that.

So, the question is, what should I make sure to save? I know some of the obvious, but I don't want to miss anything.

I picked up another auto iX. Hoping to do 5 spd conversion down the road, but that might not happen for some time

Everything in the engine bay that is not broken. Under the car, as much as the drivetrain as you have space for. Lol.

If space was super limited, it would be the diffs, the transmission with transfercase, and all the steering (rack, shaft, u joint) parts.

After what I just went through - I'm gonna say the 2 strut assemblies (if not damaged)... and definitely the front axle shafts (at minimum the passenger side - again, if not damaged)

Also - Its nice to have a box full of electrical spares - light bulbs, fuses, relays, console switches, coolant level sensor, etc.

          Thanks for all the suggestions!

I'll fit as much as I can into the basement space allotted by my gracious wife. Priority on the ix specific parts.

I picked up a 1989 with less than 40,000 miles and had gaskets and seals replaced, all fluids flushed, all new belts and hoses, water pump, and all a/c components. So, I'm hoping that I won't need the parts stash for quite some time.

You can't just say 40k mile e30 and not post pics.

            It's against forum rules.

Understood! Thanks for wanting to see "ghost" - Alpine white.

Finishing some odds and ends like window tinting, hella euro smilies with bi xenons..., though keeping very stock.
I'll then start a new thread with pics, about four weeks.

Hi, Do you still have the totaled ix? If so would you be willing to part with the fuse box. If its in good condition and does not have any section melted I would love to buy it from you.

Passenger rear wheelwell - protection plate and the plastic fuel expansion tank behind it. Glad to take the plate off your hands if its not rotted.
