Hey how’s it going? I forgot about you. I know you’re into the ix and got a few of your own if I remember correctly. I almost bought a set of struts off you but you couldn’t get the caps off. How much is the rack? Does it have the outer tie rod ends?

Things are going OK. Had four cars, now down to three. I never could get that cap off that one strut. I was looking for $300 for the rack. Subframe, steering knuckle is good, tie-rods are good, sway bar is good and so are the bushings. It is drop-in ready.

Definitely not the funnest job but rack removal isn’t too difficult on the iX. You just need to support the engine because you have to drop the subframe.

I’m suspicious of rebuilt steering racks. I’ve replaced mine twice and swear I’m still getting play. My next rack will be brand new.
