    Strut Tower housings

So a car i'm considering buying has rusted strut tower housings.
Whats a cheap way for me to fix this? Will struts off any 325 fit? Does this make the buy not worth it?

cheap way? not likely - unless you get a good deal on used struts. no, 325 struts won't fit.

you could cut off the old rusty perches and do a coilover conversion - if the top of the threaded part is rusty, you can cut off the tubes from a 325 strut and weld them on yours. that's what I'm planning on doing with my rusty parts car housings. :p

Those housings are really expensive... like $311/each expensive. Had to replace mine a few years ago.

Do you mean the actual strut housings or the towers on the body itself? If it's the car I think you mean it's on the body and that will need to have patches welded in. The good news is that that will probably be cheaper than new strut housings though...

Also, it's a bit of a drive but my shop is in NH and we're very reasonable if you need anything done. We have a lot of ix customers and my boss has a beautiful '91 ix (that I'm trying to convince him to sell to me soon) so we have the experience!

Cheers and good luck with the car!

If you're talking iX housings that's a helluva deal cuz the BMW NA Retail price on them now is $715/EACH!!!! They should still be available though.
