    335iX anyone?

This looks like it would be a fun one to make. Then turbo it. There are e28 guys getting 500hp from turbo m30s, and still have room to make more power.

you could make the same power with an M20 and it would weigh less, without nearly as much custom work.

I don't get the attraction, especially on an ix. and that oil pan is SCARY lol.

so are you going to do it then?

I know the oil pan looks like a tank! not going to crack that one open.

Im thinking about it. The transmission from the m30 bolts right up to the t-case(use the end cap from the m20 trans) I would think I could make a much better looking oil pan than that one though. I wouldnt turbo it just yet though. Im going between a 324tdiX and a 335iX Ive got both motors in my garage but just cant figure if I want crazy power or crazy mileage. With the TD I would need custom diffs or euro 3.61 diffs to make use of the TD power curve, the m30 would need a custom pan to fit, but the TD would cost less in the long run with less gas use.

With the td, a custom front diff is really the only way to go. 2.93 is optimal.

If you are interested, I would buy one with you (we'd have to see where the quantity discount would start.)

I've been thinking about swapping a 1.9tdi motor in, or an m47... but the tdi parts are definately more available.
