I am looking to replace the rear sub-frame and/or trailing arms on my 89ix. I have an 87 325e parts car that I want to swap the rear sub-frames. But would like to know if they are different? I had the pleasure of trying a steering column swap this evening and found out they are different. The ix is longer by 3 to 4 inches. The ix is a 2 door and the e is a 2 door. Could this be the concern? Maybe.

you might be better off just replacing the bushings on your trailing arms if thats the issue. if its all rusty and falling apart, start looking for a used IX setup. but you dont want to use a non ix one because it will make you very grumpy88 325 IX DiamantSchwarz - TOURING - waiting...

well ive got one to spare, but you wouldnt like the shipping costs i don't think. barely any rust and bushings arent too bad. I'm sure you could find one if you searched around, i was going to let mine go to the scrapper with the rest of the parts car in a couple weeks.88 325 IX DiamantSchwarz - TOURING - waiting...

I'll take a look when I get out to it, but it might not be for a couple weeks. Its going to VERY cold this week so definitely not right away.
I'd have to take it off and weigh/measure it. If you can wait a little while I can do it, but if you're in need keep searching and ill let mine get hauled away.88 325 IX DiamantSchwarz - TOURING - waiting...
