Changed throttle cable now i have a weird idle

hey guys was doing some searching and can't find a definite answer. I changed my throttle cable on my 88 and everything was fine before I changed it. I changed it and now the idle surges I assumed I had to adjust the cable I tried that but its not idling anywhere near where it used to idle (750 rpm). All I did was remove the old cable replaced the grommets and changed the throttle spring with the same but new one. Did I forget to do something and now the tips is messed up?

Is the throttle plate in the same position as previous, as in, is it seated when at no throttle? You may have to adjust the throttle stop, but look at the plate first.

Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body. Does it idle the same as before? Then you know its the cable. If it still idles poorly, you knocked something loose during the cable replacement. Check the brake booster and the other vacuum lines.

Figured it out cable was too tight throttle body wasn't fully closed i loosed cable left some slack and all is well now
