OEM motor mount height

Long time lurker, first time post- Installing new motor mounts on my '88 iX- new OEM mounts are almost 1/4 inch taller than the ones removed. The newer mounts flare out at base unlike the old ones. All part numbers (11-81-1-132-324) are consistent from real OEM to the major on-line parts retailers. Attached are a couple pics showing the difference. Is this kind of height difference normal? old vs new? Do mounts compress over time?

Absolutely normal. They compress over time. Should make a big difference after replaced.

Thank you- puts my mind at ease as I had already installed the new mounts when re-installing sub-frame (replaced rack).
