Anyone ever bought anything from Mr. Bodykits?

So I am in the market for an M-tech 1 kit.
And well, I know there's CEP, although their kit seems fine, but the side skirts quality has not been great as people have said on the thread about them.

Also I don't agree with their pricing. I dunno maybe it's just me.
But in their old thread, from 7 years ago yes, they started from like 825 usd and now on their website it's like 1100 usd for this "Plastiflex" and more than 1700 for abs plastic?
I don't get it honestly. I thought when you start offering the product, it's expensive at first but then you keep selling and economies of scale and whatnot.
Also this "Plastiflex" composite they're claiming is a "mix of carbon and kevlar and elastic resin" gives me shady vibes. Sounds more like "I had this lying around and don't wanna call this fiberglass and stuff I had" so they won't be held accountable.

    Sorry for the rant.
Anyway, I was browsing ebay to see what a full mtech 1 kit goes for, I saw this ad for a rear spoiler with these tacky pictures, thought it was funny.

So I looked it up, and found the website.
And would you believe it, same tacky pictures.

Brand new M-tech 1 Style Mr plastic made lower Front Bumper with glass fog light for BMW E30 (Series one) + Rear Bumper + Side Skirts Combo Kit Suits - All E30 series 1 sedan/ coupe/ convertible ( or any E30 with early chrome front top bar )  PP Injection plastic made parts just like the way modern factory bumper made.

Also realized the kit doesn't include the rear spoiler, thought ok I'll just add it to cart,
Brand new Mr. Bodykits plastic made M tech 1 style rear boot spoiler wing for all BMW E30 series. Suits - All E30 series BMW Coupe/Sedan/Convertible ABS plastic made rear spoiler, the best material for making a spoiler.  Spoiler finished in satin black (un-paint and might have few storage scuff marks), you can colour m

The "Well Made Plastic M-Tech 1 Rear Boot Bobtail Spoiler For BMW E30 Coupe/Sedan".
    It's kinda cute ngl xD.

Anyway so, add the whole kit to cart, 1234 AUD, convert it to usd, and it's $860.96
    Not bad huh?
Made from ABS plastic, mind you.
The CEP M-tech 1 kit costs $1,808 when made from ABS plastic. So more than twice the price.
Both include the foglights, however to be fair CEP does include the mounting hardware and decals with their ABS plastic kit, not included with the "Plastiflex" kit.

Here's the link to the CEP product in question:

    So, what do you think?
    I love a good competition.
Also I find these tacky pictures with the captions kind of funny.

Also are we going to talk about the fact that CEP are selling their kit on ebay for $7,609.99?!!!!
I don't know if they're selling any, it says they're sold 13 but idk if it's any legit.
That's price gouging if you ask me.

And then they put this dumb picture, to say "VERY BIG discounts on our website" where they post the actual price????
What the effffff man. It's not some porno-phishing site man.

To be fair, CAtuned's quality on their kit seems top notch.
However it does seem to be made from "Made from Plastic Composite / FlexiPlex", so a composite of some sorts.

But still, with the spoiler the kit costs $1,770, around the same price that CEP charge for their plastic kit.
And still far from $860 of the Aussie kit.

I think ABS plastic should be considered a better product probably, right?
However repairing composites I think is easier than plastic, I'm not sure though, have no experience with repairing plastic.

Are you including shipping in that price for the Mr. Bodykits one? I'm sure it won't be cheap considering the shipping for the spoiler alone is $140.

Car bumpers are usually made from polycarbonate. ABS is a lot more ridged/fragile compared to PC. Personally, I plan to order an MTech II kit from CAtuned. I trust them and the material that they use the most. It seems like Mr. Bodykit and CAtuned kits are similar, but check on the shipping and see what the prices actually come out to. You also have to consider having something shipped from California vs Australia and the time and chance of the item being lost and dealing with that headache.

What a strange thread. You're complaining that the price has gone up in 7years? sound like a grandpa complaining about stamp prices

Also im not sure you know too much about composites, so dont think your "sounds shady" comments are warranted. kevlar is tougher than carbon fibre so it has some flexibility, carbon is stiffer but is more brittle. so you combine the two to into the cloth get the best of both worlds, they call it carbon/kevlar hybbrid weave. And you can get flexible resins to reduce brittleness and increase toughness. I dont know exactly what mr body kits uses but the comments in the advert make perfect sense to me and sound like a good way to make something you want to have some level of flexibility.

It's true CEP does include standard shipping in the price, and the Mr. Bodykits people don't.

And I was wrong, they're made from PP Plastic, not abs. But it is Polypropylene, so I guess it is a Polycarbonate.
And I'm not sure if how that stacks up against the rest in terms of quality.

But CEP's plastic kit is abs, so apples to apples, the aussie makes the better plastic I guess?

Still, yes it does seem that CATuned's quality and reputation is the best overall.

Well the complaining bit about the price is pretty much because price is important to me, and it makes a difference in my choice.

You're right, I don't have a lot of experience with composites, just some youtube level general idea and made some fiberglass a while back, so yeah not much overall.

I just prefer transparency when I'm about to make a purchase, and this made up "Plastiflex" word rubbed off on me.
Just call it carbon-kevlar hybrid, sounds cool enough. Doesn't need to be iComposite.

I think that's Ebay's algorithm automatically increasing price as "last one". I've noticed that on say like E36 M3 bumpers that are typically $100-150, however when "last one" it would be $1000 or something crazy.

                      Oh.
Well after looking at their ebay store, apparently they're running out of everything.

Call me a pessimist but I think they know what they're doing.
Putting it as "Only 1 left" then you go to the description and it says big discounts at the site and all.
                      Yeah they know it.
