My son and I have spent the last year restoring an 85 E . Unfortunately, as he was pulling into a parking lot a woman in a Taurus backed into him denting the rear door and running the car down the fender lip and bumper surround.
The issue I’m having is the insurance has quoted $2600 for the repairs and valued the car at $16-$1800. The car will be totaled and have a salvage title if I agree to their terms. I feel that the repair costs are inflated and the value of the car deflated. So I’m turning to the forums for a reality check.
As you will see in the pics the car is now very clean. It has been outfitted with a full GC track school kit new tranny and clutch, master and slave cylinders along with a fresh head. I’m not looking to gouge the insurance company, but have to prove that the car is valued higher than what their generic appraisal shows.
I appreciate your feedback!
Thank you
