I'd love a painted CF hood, who cares about the weave look. I don't think the one pictured is a VIS hood either, the gaps would be way more noticeable since it's painted white.
I could pull off the exposed weave, as it's the same color as my car. However, I'd still choose painted if there was no extra cost.
