    Plastic bumpers on my car?

I'm just wondering if plastic bumpers will fit my car (Yes, I have searched but couldn't find a definite answer.)

    (Off the Vehicle tag)
    1988 325is-2
    Mfg: 12/87
    Vin: WBAAA1305J8253267

I've read on a few posts that it is a straight swap over but have also heard that it depends on when it was manufactured...

    Thanks for any responses

Does it have the bigger tail lights?

My Super Eta, below, was manufactured in 9/87 and I'll be able to direct swap over to plastic bumpers, you should be able to too.

They are a direct bolt-on swap to your car.

its a crime for any 88 car to NOT have the plastic bumpers swapped in. its literraly a 10 minute job and it should be the FIRST mod anyone with an 88 e30 spends money on. (of course there are those who disagree with me...you know who u are  )

You find me one person on this board that can do it that fast (myself included)

It takes alot longer then 10 minutes.

Took me at least 15 minutes to do the front one alone!

Way above amateur mechanic level. Lots of custom fitting needed to get it to work right. If you have an early style (84-87) and you're not the man at doing body work, look into early euro bumpers.
Jordan knows exactly how much work is involved. He modified plastic bumpers (as well as other completely custom parts) to work on his '87 E30. Maybe he'll add some input to your question.

I was just talking to Jordan about this yesterday, actually. He said that the front is a direct swap, but the back needs something to prop it up because it sags.

for a cabrio yea it directly bolts but you need to place shims under the shocks. the problem thereafter is you have a gay looking rear end with no rear apron.
