Nice IS and Taurus Sideskirt Alternative...

You heard it here first. I was going to hold off until it was finished and fully mounted. But I figure I would let the cat out of the bag now since I'm actually going in a different direction but still wanted to share this with the community.

EDIT: I posted a pic of the car it came off of and assumed car guys would be able to identify it but for those that can't, it's from an early 90's(90-94?) Pontiac Grand Prix Sedan. I believe only the SE models and above had these. The base LE models did not IIRC.

IMO, this sideskirt is somewhere in between the factory IS skirt and Zender skirt.

Best of all it can be had between $10-$20 from a yard.

Modification requires cutting one of the end caps shorter and epoxying that onto the longer piece. (the pics below do not have this done to them yet)

Mounting can be done with screws or BMW plastic expanding rivets 4 at the bottom and one in each wheel well.

I will give it a little time to see if people can guess what it is.

    Please excuse the crappy pics.

They flare to much for me, but i could see it flowing with certain cars. I want something smooth like the mtech 2 skirts (not the pods)

Yeah that's R3V for ya. And you are right in the fact that I wanted to see if someone could guess it correctly first. It's funny I make a post and step out for dinner and movies and some people get their panties in a bunch.

Looking at them again, I can see that they do flare out more than IS skirts and maybe closer to IX skirts without the wheel arches. I do agree that this would only work for some cars. As for smooth sideskirts to match the Mtech2 line, I have something in the works as we currently speak. ;)
