Under hood insulation

wait, does this insulation still apply for cars with that one huge insulation (resembling a cardboard blanket) under the hood that is held up by expanding rivets? I don't see how I can use both types of insulation

Depending on the model and year of the e30, it came with the full hood insulation which is the one piece cardboard material, or the 3 piece foam insulation that fits inside the 3 panels of the hood. I do know that some cars intake would hit the cardboard version so maybe, like the m42, they installed the foam. So you have either one but not both installed.

ahh I see, that clears up a lot. so jsut to verify, theres no cars that comes with both types of insulation under the hood. the realoem diagram threw me off

That is correct. Can someone add the one piece over the foam, yes. Just not sure how it would fit
