Some of you had cracked CD's. In those rare instances, I mailed out another CD to the same address as before. Damn Post Office. Sorry guys!

Bump for someone giving some great money saving techniques. Not mine (I wish), but a prime example of a roller-paint job.

Hi, could you get any really detailed pics of the finish on the paint? Curious as to how it looks up close... Do you put any sort of clear coat on it?

Hey good job Frank, it looks great. Ive painted a few cars with rustoleum also, and the results have been pretty good.

The problem Ive had with using it is the longevity of it. It doesent have the UV protection that the higher quality enamels tend to have. I painted my friends Dart, and a little over a year later it tended to chalk up, and lose its gloss- even though he maintained it. The latest GRM e30 is holding up well, and very rarely see rain or sun- so Im timing that one too.
For anyone wanting to do this on a similar budget, I recomend using an exterior oil base- Either an S&W metal enamel, or the Impervo ben moore metal&wood enamel. Something around 35-40 /gallon- Which should do the whole car with much left over if thinned out properly used with an hvlp.

This years GRM challenge car i plan to do it a little different by using two part marine top coat- bright white. It will stand up to the elements, and have the durability at 1/4 of the price.

                      Clear coat is sticky.
