I'm abroad now so when I do google something like this it comes up in the countries home language. Makes it tough.

I can honestly say that unlike fixing shit mechanically, that bodywork requires a bit more of hands on experience.Comment

In my somewhat limited experience (painted 2 cars and a bunch of other things with automotive paint). it is relatively easy to get a reasonable finish with the paint. give me a flat surface and a spray gun and after a few goes i got a very shiny acceptable finish after a polish (just acrylic paint ive used, not 2 pack). do all the right things, clean panels properly, mix your paint to the specific ratio, get the gun settings close to the recomended. and youll get a decent finish. Not winning any awards but for a street car with fairly low paint cost (compared to paying someone) a very good outcome.
What i found extremely difficult was panel beating and removing dents. Sand, fill dent with bog, sand back, still dented, more bog, sand, still dented, more bog, still dented. There is a definite skill here that i didn't have and still don't have. there is a technique that i reckon needs to be taught by a pro hands on. and probably quite a few tricks of the trade using proper sanding tools. Absolute pain in the ass fixing dents.Comment
