Got My Brand New Mtech 1 Wing Mounted Today

Ugh and I did a horrible job of mounting it. The instructions were in german and I've never done a spoiler before. So my friend and I sort of eye balled it. Came out way off, drilled another set of holes and got it flush, but now its not centered.

I'm going to fix that next week as I'm too lazy to do it now. Then I have to paint the painted part of the spoiler and mount that. As of now its just sitting in the car. Also the plastic 10mm nuts they use suck, this spoiler defintely needs some better hardware.

I'll take pics later today or tomorrow.

Also while I was at work not working so much, I installed the armrest, which is by far the best thing I've done to this car for any sort of comfort.

you realize that the dealer sells inexpensive templates for rear spoilers so you can get the alignment perfect, right?

Also the plastic nuts are used to hold all of the OE spoilers .
Don't see why they would suck ...unless you overtightened them .

the 2 end nuts are sort of a pain to get to. The angle the studs come in make it harder to get the nuts started straight. Also at the point where we got the holes in the right place, my side of the shop had been locked up, and all we had was a medium lengthed 3/8" 10mm socket, and it was sort of bulky for the small little opening in comparisson to the other holes.

I would also like to put some locknuts on when I mount it for good.

I used an extra trunklid I had from a 318is to make a template and my MTech 1 spoiler came out perfect

Mtech one is for early cars, mtech two is for later cars.

I dont think its in period of a late car thats all.

I think an MTech 2 wing would look out of place on my car without a body kit, etc
