    bumper bolts.

so I have a 20 year old car. from Wisconsin. I need to get the bumpers off but the bolts are rusty so much so that I out a four foot pipe on a breaker bar and ended up bending the breaker bar. any ideas as to how to get them out. or get the bumpers out ?

PB Blaster. Let it sit for a while, then carefully try again. Repeat until they come loose. You can also try heating them from the bottom with a torch. You severely risk warping the bumper with this method if it's a plastic bumper car.

I can't really get at the bolts except from the bottom. and that don't really help will it?

Patience. And lots of penetrating spray. You might need a week or 2 with a few sprays each day. Or try some 'freeze off' spray.

You're doing better than me... I was impatient, not enough PB Blaster soak time I had 2 bolts snap off and 2 nuts round off on the rear.

I ended up cutting the last 2 heads off from the outside once I removed the black trim piece (metal bumpers). In hind sight, I probably could have gotten my dremel out and cut the nuts off instead...

mix ATF and acetone 50/50 in a spray bottle

works better than PB. But make sure that you close the nozzle to the sprayer after youre done using it, the pressure from the acetone evaporating will cause it to ooze/spray out on its own.

Impact wrench. The hammer helps to break them loose, better then a big ol' breaker bar.

Lol, already bent a breaker bar a couple of inches. Impact wrench is worth a shot.

I'm in the same boat. My impact wrench does nothing. I have heated them to the boiling point. (practically set the atmosphere on fire)

I'm prolly just going to fire my las0r at them.

So saw this again, I never did get the front bumper off. I ended up cutting the rear one out from the inside, took off the shock mountings. Still would like to get the front one off at some point. My impact wrench is useless on them, even with the fact that it is a 215lb-ft model.
