Best "off the shelf" paint match for basketweaves?

Wheels are in great shape but the caps have seen better days. What paint have you guys used to match the factory color of the basketweaves? Should a guy prime and/ or clear coat them also? Just the caps I'm talking about here.

würth is your best bet if you're just doing straight silver and you want nice paint.

      Wurth...........?
Is that a brand I can buy here in middle America or do I need to order it from a German automotive supply company? I'd much rather run to Sprawl-Mart and drop a couple bucks on some Krylon or Dupli-Color. I reiterate "off the shelf".

Thanks for the insight though, Nando.

well if you want mismatched paint that flakes off a month later, go ahead. :)

and yes würth is a brand, but you should be able to find it easy enough. a couple clicks and some dude in a brown suit will even bring some to your door. ;)

Either I'm not being clear or your lacking in reading comprehension skills. It certainly doesn't make much sense to pay shipping charges on a $4 can of paint. Hence the request for an "off the shelf" brand.

"Ain't ne'er seen no Wurth paint 'round these parts." ;)

Besides, what makes Wurth better than a domestic paint company? Zie Germans!?

$4 for a can of Wurth? Try multiplying that by at least 5

Please pardon my ignorance  ......... I did a little research and have seen the light. Again, thank you (both) for the insight.

But it's just paint, right?! :?

If you have money to play with, why not go buy a few cans of different shades of silver and test it? Seems like the intelligent thing to do, if you're not going to go with quality paint anyway.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Why not buy a bunch of dupli color and paint the rims and the centers. That way shit will match later.

                    Sold it.

No, no.... I guess I didn't make myself clear in my last post (hypocritical of me, isn't it)! I think I am going to go with the Wurth and I thank those for pointing me in the right direction.

                      I digress.
