Will this valance bolt on to my car

I'm trying to figure out if this valance will be a direct bolt on to my 85 325e. Its on ebay and the seller says its a direct bolt on and he has the mounting hardware which I assume is the bolts.

This is my first e30 project and still looking for help and any would be appreciated and I don't necessarily trust ebay.

I believe that actual metal valence behind that spoiler is different than the regular US valence. My brackets were made to fit a different contour than what the stock valence was. Hope this answers your question.

You need the 86 to 87 style valance that will work with that spoiler. However, you can get it to work with your early style valance...it just won't be the proper way. Just drill through your existing valance. You can get it to fit. I did this to my 85 before I wrecked it. Then I upgraded to the later style just so i could run that spoiler and a 325i oil cooler (I used a later style core support too).

More info, that is an early model 325is valence.

The difference between the 325es valence and the 325is is the lower center slots. They are for letting are to the oil cooler. Since 325e's didn't get and oil cooler, there are no slots. See here:

Make sure it comes with the 5 (or 6?) plastics brackets. Those are the parts that are hard to come by.

I want to say there are 3 black plastic brackets, 2 straight plastic strip brackets and a metal bar that goes across that slides into the top of the spoiler. I think it's all NLA too.

              thats the original hardware

that being said, the most important bit to have are the brackets that hold the sides on, they should be bonded to the insides of the rear legs of the valence.

if you dont have the factory mounting hardware (or if you do and you dont like how it sags) you can always bolt the valence straight to the bumper. This would require drilling holes in the bottom of the bumper and top of the valence and using nuts/bolts/washers to hold it in place. Be advised you will need to use BIG fender washers to prevent pulling through the plastic if you go this route.

I actually used the metal bar from the old factory hardware when all my plastic pieces broke instead of washers.

I'm waiting to hear if he has the hardware, then I'll decide. Sounds like I can make this work so I might give it a try. Think he had it at 125.00 plus shipping. Thanks for all the help!
