    325is front valence air dam

I just purchased from a 1987 325is the front air dam and was looking for part numbers for the brackets or pictures so that I have somewhere to start in getting it to fit on my 1985 325e. I have included a few pictures below so you can see what I have and what brackets I already have. These brackets are more intact, but they all appear different, thats why I am asking for help. Thanks!

IIRC, there was someone who had produced some all metal "d-brackets" as they're called. Not sure of the actual part number.

Which one does it look like, if any?

Also there are two other brackets / pictures I didn't include, but they just look like broken versions of the plastic center one.

If you have diving boards, its possible to just drill holes underneath and bolt it right on through the top lip of the valence. I did it on my 87 325is a while back and it looked great, no sag and the valence held up great without any cracks. about 5 bolts did the trick, evenly supported.

I also remember the guy who was producing those brackets, afraid I cant help where to find them though.

I found the guy that reproduced the 3 brackets in metal, but he didn't have any in stock and didn't plan to make more. There are distinct left, center, and right brackets, the flatter end brackets, and the long flat metal bar that runs along the top.
Here are the factory installation instructions:

            Great Information, Thanks!

This really helps me, as I was trying to find info from the parts catalog and all the pictures were generic.

I have been trying to find any of the part numbers through RealOEM due to there not being is or es as options, perhaps I am looking the wrong way / options any help would be appreciated as I will be looking for other associated parts, such as brake ducts (old ones are broken).

Ah man, that's what I paid for the air dam ;)

I thought that the middle one was intact but the link provided shows otherwise. Any tips on finding the pieces?

I may just mod up some pieces to get the solid feel, but it is always easier to just have the finished piece.

                    -Thanks

Brackets for 325es and 325is E30 air dam

I saw the posts looking for brackets. I am in the middle of a project to produce them.

The original parts had a thinned out area which seems to be a "Break away" weak spot. I am looking for opinions: should I eliminate the weak spot or not?

The image on the right is an original and on the left a new one that I made.

                      Thanks,
                      Chuck

They are in production with improvements over the ones in the picture.

I have added a spring shape instead of the break away thin section.

They will be ready to ship in 2 weeks

It's been 2 weeks. Are you selling the brackets yet? If so, how much for a set?

So are you making replacement ones, so there is the right left and center, or will they be universal?

                              -Thanks
