    Flat black anyone?

Hey guys, this is my first post here, bought a 325 yesterday. Now she needs a bit of body work, and I was thinkin that when thats done, I might paint her the color, I, as a former dubber, love. Which is flat black. Now my question is, how do you go about this? If you put clear over matte black paint, will it turn glossy. If anyone knows what to do, I'd really like to know.

    Thanks
    Tyler

Any decent body shop can do a satin black paint job and have it come out awesome. Just look at a lot of the old hot rods.

I dont want a body shop to do it, I just want to know if clear coat will make the black paint glossy. I dont want to ruin a good paint job by making it shinny, and as I've never done flat black before, I'd like to know.

        Thanks

Clearcoat will add a certain depth to the paint, but if its flat black its going to stay flat. How do you plan on painting it?

Clear coat will make a shitstain glossy. Stop talking out of your ass TEEJ.

Flat black paint isnt flat, its a satin. Search online and find out what paint hot rodders use.

There is John Deere satin black that is popular with the rat rod crowd. I'll see if I can dig up the information.

Why not? It's just regular clear coat with a flatener.
