car came with a flat hood, solutions?

So the car I bought came with a flat finish on the hood, it looked like someone took a rattle can to the darn thing! I can post pictures later if you like.

What can I do to get it shiny like the rest of the car? Should I polish it? Clear coat it? Or paint the whole thing over again?

I'm looking for the cheapest, easiest solution, as it only needs to last me till next summer when I get a real paint job. I just want it to look a little nicer than it does right now

I used rattle can primer, black, and a clear coat. Took my time and made sure each coat was able to dry. Came out pretty good for 15 bucks. Obv the color was slightly off. You could take the hood to a body shop and let them match the color. Thats a lot more obviously. it all depends on how much you are willing to spend and how anal you are if its not perfect.

If you're going for a temporary solution that will look good until then, go with the above recommended method. I would even throw some wetsanding in there between coats. I painted a Rieger lip with all rattlecans a few years ago, and with good prep and wetsanding between coats, I had that thing shinier than the rest of the car, it was like glass.
