    How in the he!!?

I'am doing the plastic bumper swap on my 87 vert. How do you take off the shocks from the rear of the car? I removed both bolts from each shock. I keep pulling and they don't budge is there a trick?

its hard! we put a chain on the bumper, and a attatched the other end to the toe hook of a 325i automatic...chain broke lol.

BFH and muscle did the job finally.

In the frame rails under the car...... Have fun with the one above the muffler.

I little further down the frame rail. Get to them from under the car.

yup 3 got them both came right out. now i just haft to figure out how to mount the plastic bumpers.

Do i mount the plastic bumper shocks to the plastic bumper then mount to the car? or do i mount the bumper shocks to the car then bumper to the shocks??????

                  in refrence to rear bumper.

Shock to bumper then bumper to shock is easiest imo.

Ok i got the plastic bumper on but the sides sag and i cant find a way to put the sliders on. How do i get the sides to stop sagging? Also do i need to take off the female end sliders that are attached to the bumper so it will sit flush?

do i need to drill a hole and then put a bolt and washer through my bumper? that would be ugly.

What would is the cleanest way to accomplish this?

Check out my bumper conversion thread. I did not use the rear sliders. The vert in my sig was swapped a few years ago.

Leave the slider off the car.
There should be a hole in the side of the car around where the end of the bumper ends up. This hole was for your bumper shroud.
There should also be a hold in the same area on your rear bumper.
Put a bolt though it and put rubber spacers between the bumper and the body in varying thicknesses until desired gap is achieved.
Afterward install bumper trim and your golden. All bolts will be hidden.
