You will hate life for the time it takes to get it off, but it could be done.
Looks nice without it on professional paint jobs.

For the front valance? I just used a DA on mine, and took it down to metal. Took some time, but the end result after it's painted is so nice.

Old thread, but I did this. I used "Aircraft Stripper" from local autoparts store. It comes in both an aerosol can and as a gel. I used 2 can of aerosol. Spray it on, let is sit and bubble, hit it with a wire wheel. Hose it off, repeat till all texture is removed.

Just do it outside, and wear a mask. It is nasty shit

Wire wheel it off dry. Wear a mask if you can't stop yourself from breathing it in, and glasses if you insist on staring into the "output" side of the wheel. I took off all the texture from my rear valence this way. Once you get the hang of the method it doesn't take all that long.

Aircraft stripper and a paint scraper works very well. Used a wire wheel to get the nooks and crannies.

Does this make a valance more prone to rock chips?

hasn't been a problem on mine. Main reason I took the texture off was it was chipped up and it's impossible to match that texture.

A harbor freight wire wheel on an angle grinder plus 1hr equals this:

+1 on the mask. I used a ventilator and the crap gets everywhere.

Don't forget a set of good cleaning gloves (nitrile, vinyl, thick kind) if you decide to go this route.

Heat gun and a putty knife works well on flat surfaces, then a wire wheel or a silicon carbide disk on a grinder for the corners. Wear safety glasses, dust mask, gloves and ear plugs though. The wire wheel rings the valence like a bell. lol

And Aircraft Stripper sucks ass compared to this stuff:

Comes in a spray can too. Works 10 times quicker/better then Aircraft Stripper.

Oh, and expect this to happen with the wire wheel.

Yes, that is a piece of wire stuck 1/4" into my face.
