What's the fit/finish of them like? They'd likely be painted satin black, or done in the same fine-texture bedliner as my engine bay.
The fit/finish is decent. They fit on the fenders pretty well, and are 100% better fit than the IE flares. They are a bit heavy, and could be made lighter by using better layup techniques, but overall they aren't that bad. Surprisingly, mine are straight out of the box and on the car, no paint at all! I was in afghanistan when my friend put them on, and when I came back he had already riveted and caulked them on. It matched close enough so I didn't bother taking them back off to repaint them.

You see where mine turn vertical? If you trim that part off, and then trim up as far as you like, I think you'll get exactly the look your looking for.

In this pic you can see how my friend flared the bottom of the fender to match up with the flares. I'll have to measure my track because it's a bit wider than stock, and I'm running much larger wheel/tires than stock, so I needed that flare to clear the wheels turning/scrub radius.

The fenders on Ericks car looks the same. Its just the color of the cars which makes the flares look different I guess. They are from the same mold my friend;)

I remember a guy on bimmerforums that built a blue E36 with some JDM looking fender flares, You might want to search around on the track build section
wow that looks amazing, for some reason DTM fiberworks picture makes them look too bulbous, but on your car it fits the lines perfect.

Is it me or is that 510 a big part of why those flares look fucking badass?

I'm sure you could make the Datsun flares fit with a little love and manipulation.

From pictures I have seen they dont seem to be too bad.

I know they dont have the extra little lip near the edge.

    What about something like this:

    or still too rounded?

    This might be interesting:

Otherwise the Eurostop rivet-on ones don't seem too bad.

DTM is also a place to look

I've always wanted to try some 240zg flares they are easily available from datsun part sites.

I know that you don't have to use that many rivets on the IE ones, but it's mainly the shape of them that I hate, they're way too round and bulged out. I really like the look and style of the ones on that 510, which is also why I'm not really into just flaring out the existing metal fenders. I like the look of the ones above, and beyond that, doing a full pull and flare of the stock sheet metal would require a ton of body and paint work. Not that I would just sawzall the stock ones out and bolt the new ones on, of course I would make it clean.

The Eurostop ones aren't bad, and I know I sound like the pickiest person in the world, but they're a bit larger than what I'm after. I'm wondering if the ones on that 510 came from something else.
Nah i hear you. Ive been looking for the perfect flare myself, the IE ones shape is off
