    Adjust door frame

Has anyone adjusted the doorframes on their car? I just picked up a '91 318is, and the upper rear corner of the driver's door does not sit flush, and there is a lot of wind noise.

I'm wondering if there is some adjustment to the door frame possible. I'd prefer to try and fix the existing door before finding one in a scrap yard.

    Thanks,
    Ian

Okay, I'll answer my own question, in case it can help someone else. I took a piece of 2x4 and wedged it between the door latch and the body. This kept the door a couple of inches clear of the body. Then, with the window lowered, I pushed on the upper rear corner of the door. A couple rounds of pushing and testing the fit resulted in a door frame that is once agin flush with the B-pillar, and water-tight.

Did you just loosen/tighten the four bolts holding the door to the hinge? did you have to move the latch part that mounts to the body?
I tried to adjust my doors a few weeks ago with out much luck, didnt seem to make much difference.

Sounds like the OP just bent the door frame using the 2x4 as a fulcrum.

Exactly. This was a low tech fix.
