Man I spent 14K on paint and body work for my '65 Beetle, what a waste, I could have had these guys do it for $1200!

I dont take it personally. At 16 i had a 74 2002 i worked my ass off and redid the entire car and right. Just cause he's a kid dosent mean it couldn't have been done right. I wasnt saying he should have paid 8k but you cant expect very much for 800.

I just find it funny how you two are completely different people. He's a kid. We all did dumb things. What he lost in money, he more then made up for with knowledge.

I saved forever but took my 89 M3 down to a complete shell, did all the disassembly and assembly myself. No major body work, used oem basf paint and paid 8k for the job, but it looks perfect.

Sorry to hear your troubles, you've gotten enough grief from the dicks on here so I will try to educate u.

Paint is expensive. You cannot expect anything good for under 3k. If u pay less than that and get good work, u either sucked someone's dick or got lucky.

Next time you want to get something painted, remove as much shit as possible yourself, not only will you be more careful than them, but you can make sure nothing gets broken.

Lastly, as stated before, remove and repaint any pieces you don't want orange with SEM black paint, take your time and do it right, save your pennies and got to a reputable paint shop and ask if the major mistakes can be buffed out, or if they can buff the entire car(honestly, as long as they got enough clear on there a proper buff and polish will do wonders)

I hope you can get it squared away, best of luck.

Surely this is a learning curve, buy $1000 car, get $800 paint job, end up with this car.

In future im sure you can see the value in buying a better car, getting a better paint job no? For around $2k its not all that bad, paint the horror bits black yourself and make the most of a cheap car.

Could be worse, you could have paid $6k for the paint job :)
