    body damage estimate

moments ago, while my car was parked on the street (because the rust proofing is still dripping) a elderly gentlemen backed into my car. luckily there wasn't too much damage but there was damage. i thank him for actually coming to my house and telling my what happened instead of taking off.

now here are the pics..what do you think the cost would be to repair it?
it's right behind the driver door. the driver door is unharmed.

price was about $1300 with taxes canadian. the place i took it too did a alright job. still need to see it clean and in the day. but everything lines up fine and the car will be good until next year where i will be getting my whole body fixed, and resprayed. quote for that was $2500cdn using bmw brilliant red paint.

thats a bad place to be hit b/c of the lack of and easily changed body panel. It will either be filled (don't do that), hammered back out, or cut and weld (don't do that)

oh...forgot to ask....they replaced the piece of trim with a new one and glued it on with this black glue. i took the tape off today and the beginning part of the trim at the top looked like the trim was twisted but wasn't. how does this trim really stay on?

so i went back to the body shop today and they used urethane glue to hold that part of the trim on. this was the result since the glue couldn't dry properly.
i'm going to go get some clips and tell them to put it on properly. this is just one thing that can go wrong when you take your car to a body shop. they use glue instead of the proper clips.

it is bs.....they replaced the trim and didn't even replace the clips.
never going back there again. btw, while i was leaving there was a subaru going in that hit a driveshaft from a dump truck. right rear tire was in pieces!!!!
