    What to do (wreck inside)

I recently picked this up. Is there anyway to fix this by myself? I'm pretty handy and my friend said his Dad would try and pull the frame out for me. My other choice would be to part it, and I'm not really looking to go that route, but I'm also not trying to dump thousands into it either. What do you guys think? Bad? Or have you seen people fix worse? Both sides of the rear fenders are collapsed by the tail lights also.

If it is just that then possibly sorce it from a juck yard cut it out and reweld on the new peice. As long as it has not messed up any of your suspension mouting points there really is no reason you can not fix it.

Trying to pull that out seems a bit optimistic.

    what happened?

Previous owner spun it on the highway and hit a guardrail. I mean, Sourcing it and rewelding would be a little out of my league haha.

I would defiantly go with rewelding a good section in. That looks pretty bent up to be pulled straight. I mean you might be get it to look half decent but never as nice as a piece that's already straight.

If I remember correctly I seen the rear panel on realoem for only 200 bucks, you might want to look into it.

Yuup. The only way to fix that and have it come out halfway decent would be to weld on a new ass end.

big consideration would be the condition of the rear frame rails. if they are unaffected by the collision, then the car is fixable. if they are bent/compressed/otherwise fucked up, its a parts car. cosmetic sheet metal is easy (by comparison) to fix, but something structural such as a bumper mount (think safety) is grounds to part it and put the stuff in a good shell.

looks fixable but may not be worth the $$. Its a toss up I guess.

Well, this is going as my track whore, so I'm not necessarily worried with appearance. BUT it still needs to pass tech and on top of that, I do want to run it as a daily for awhile until I get the money to swap it out.

Would you be willing to sell me the driver side quarter panel moulding while you work on it? It's the third piece (going left to right) in your first pic. Feel free to PM me to discuss if you like.

I'd either do it right (cut and weld) or completely half ass it (hammer it with very minimal effort) until you can do it right. If you put a lot of effort into pulling and straightening it now, you may lose motivation to ever make it really good in the future, and it'll always just be meh.

its not worth the time or money in my eyes. only proper way would to weld on a straight section, then going about the other various body work to get the thing back to how it was. not to mention paint

Would this pass tech for autox or nasa/scca? Well if I could get the trunk to close all the way.

                          Stanceworks?

                          Ugh.

Looks to be a huge pita to fix, but if you got it for a good deal then it might be a fun project as long as you view it as nothing more. Projects like this generally get way bigger than originally intended.

                            What is the goal?

Commuter: get that so the trunk lid shuts and rear lights work, drive it.

Racecar: if it passes the organization's rule book or can with little work (or below the expense of an E30 decent enough to pass), race it.

                            Project: E30 stake bed truck.

Fixing it though, like guys said above...

Stancework sticker is worth a lot on its own... part out.

Well ultimately, I would want to fix it for now and use it as a commuter car. So just rig it to shut the trunk all the way and fit the lights in. EVENTUALLY when I have the money I would want to use it as a track car, but I don't have the money to actually do that. I think I could pass it for simple tech at an autox. As long as that is okay.
