Clear PlastiDip my front valance?

Has anyone used the aerosol can type of clear PlastiDip for anything before? I'm thinking of coating my freshly painted euro valance before installing to give it some sort of protection from stone chips, bugs, etc. I googled around the interwebs and found various discussions but no pics or actual first hand commentary. I'm just wondering how transparent it is and if it would hold up for a little while.

I'm pretty sure it will chip and peel off pretty rapidly. I think you're better off just keeping a good coat of wax on it - cars get paint chips on the front end, it's just life.
