    DIY euro trim oops

so a friend and i yesterday accidentally went from adding the fiberglass straight to the bondo filler, skipping the kitty-hair step.

do you think it's worth reversing back to fiberglass and redoing it?

The "kitty hair" is for strength. Should be alright as long as the trim doesnt flex or get bumped

True. I've messed with it before. Repaired a rear valance that took a shit on me anyways.

I've had good results with Bondo applied over fiberglass/resin.

do you guys recommend something better though?
I used this red-colored bondo that was in my garage for the last 7 years, and when it "dried" not really, it was all cracked up.
when i was sanding it at midnight last night in my garage, i accidentally went too deep and got concavity.

LMFAO i haven't failed this hard at an e30 project in a long time

basically, what is the best affordable filler product you guys recommend for me to use after laying down the fresh fiberglass mat on the rear as well?

I also only had 600 grit so I need a little rougher paper assortment too :(

I use 3m 8223 to repair/shape plastic. I repaired my 86 air dam with it and it stayed together after an accident, it was cracked all the way through the fog light.

I went back and got some more bondo and filled all 4 corner trims.
now for the waiting game, and to sand down tomorrow, prime, und paint.

Did you bevel the edges at all? If not, it will crack.

How well did the fiberglass stick to the trim?

                            Fiberglass stuck great
But the bondo won't. It's all uneven and whenever I try to sand it down or apply it, it comes uneven or cracks.

I'm fed up, and out of bondo tubes.

I'm just so pissed that I'm going to ditch the car at my aunts house without trim.

I'm literally out of spending money, this has all gotten out of control for me.

                            Sorry folks.

The price you spent on fiberglass/bondo/removing bondo/bondo/sandpaper/filler/paint, you could have just bought euro trim.
