I'd much rather have an 20 year old E30 with bad or questionable paint, and perhaps touch-up paint and dents, etc than an E36 or E46 with questionable rear floors, which happen to tear out... even on the street with stock suspension...
so overall, even if you paint isn't flawless or it won't win any carshows like that gay Jimmy Warren desires to do, it's not all that bad because your rear floors were designed with strength in mind, not lowest cost and lightest weight like the E36s, E46s.
