    Body schutz

For those like it and want it on their car, which one should a guy use?
    3M 08964 paintable- black
    3M 08864 non paintable?- black
    3M 08874 rocker schutz- tan

i searched and there aint a whole lot of input on texture/finish etc on this stuff. I got some damage/dents from PO that i want to fix up on the lower portion of the rear apron and want to match the rest if possible. Any one used it? how is it to get the texture correct?

    Thanks.

When I painted my car I sanded all the original stuff off and sprayed it with a u-pol texture product it's called gravitex. It turned out real nice but you need the gun to spray it. And you paint your top coat over it. If you check my build thread in my sig I think there's a picture of how it turned out.

Also a tip with spraying any texture coating is that the finish depends on many factors like distance when spraying, how fast or slow you move, and air pressure of the gun. The best thing to do it practice on some scrap first because you need to VERY consistent.

I can help here! I completely stripped and refinished my late model front valance. Once it was down to bare metal, I primed the entire thing and then used the 3M tan rocker schutz applied at the rated pressure with a schutz gun (not the overpriced 3M gun either).

A bit messy but laid down nice and easy. With two medium coats, it matches the OEM BMW coating perfectly!!

I definitely recommend it. I'll be doing the rest of the car with it eventually.

It takes paint very nicely, the finished product looks like it came straight from BMW.
