I like chrome for dark colored ones and dark for like alpines. Yours looks good with black though. Those eyelids are a no go tho!

My chrome one was not in good shape so I painted it black.

I like black better up close but from a distance the black kidneys disappear and the grill just looks like one massive hole in the front of the car as previously stated.

As my father says, "It takes away from the BMWness of the car." The kidney's are like a signature and I feel like they should remain visible and prominent on the grille. I will replace mine with some better chrome ones when I come across them.

I have a strong hate for blacked out kidneys, but it looks good on your car.

Can you take any shots of the front end from further away? And maybe get a bit of the profile of the car in there so we can really judge how it looks.

I like chrome kidneys, and that lip is actually very nice looking.
