    Rejuvenating IS lip

Recently picked up a used IS lip that has a couple layers of paint in which some areas are beginning to peel. Would it be safe to apply a paint stripper to avoid sanding?

Don't let it sit too long or it will pit the urethane.

What about sanding? What grits would be ideal to work with?

sand it, its not that bad. start with a rougher grit, like i dunno, maybe 200 area, and work your way up to a smoother finish and finish with a fine grit, like 1000.

use a finer grit and just tag it all.
            It won't take long.

              Grit!

I wouldn't use anything coarser than 220 Wet to start, then 320 Wet. After primer a fine scuff pad. Coarse stuff leaves scratches that have to be filled.
