    Cabrio Hardtop Racks?

Been searching all over the place for some information on these.
Seen bits and pieces, but I would like an absolute answer to what I want. I've seen the modded Yakima bike rack put on an E30 cabrio hardtop, but I want to install a basket up there, not a bike rack. I've looked at the little mounts for those impossible to find racks they made back in the day and I'm honestly not sure.

    Any info would be super.

also, here's a picture of grandpa.

Those pictures really give a good reference, first time i've seen the real ones at all. you think I could shove a Thule M.O.A.B. on mine or something similar?

Heres the rest of the pics I have. If we can find the manufacturer of the rack maybe can get them to produce a short run of these again

With the exception of the mounting points that rack looks identical to the BMW factory rack I had for my e61. Is there an 11 digit BMW PN anywhere on the rack or instructions ?

You could modify a rack to fit it as well.

Nice job. What I like about that "factory" rack is that I had a range of mounting accessories that slid in to that same groove where the rubber bumper is and that allowed me to tie down anything from skis to lumber and I think the whole setup cost about $250 from my dealer.

That's not mine it's another member from here. But as you can see it's not hard to improvise and mount a non oem one on a factory hardtop.

are those clips you pictured oem? or off another roof rack?

yeah the towers on the cabrio hardtop rack are the unique feature of the factory rack.

What's a good way to do that with a basket/luggage rack without doing the cross beams? I don't really want it sticking way up.
