    E30 Rivet-on Overfenders

So no shit there I was......browsing the E36 BF.C forum and I came across a thread Iv been following for some time now, and it hit me......If only e30's had rivet on over fenders with either 30mm, 50mm, and 70mm wide body options. I think this would be a great change from the Rivet on Flares we all know and love... if done correctly Im wondering on some feed back as to if anyone would have interest in something like this....Is this something only I have been wanting? Or is this something people want, but don't bother because nobody makes it.

The e30 crowd is flooded with the same looks IMO (not in a bad way, but in a cookie cutter way). If there was a way to keep the factory body lines, but slightly skewed for wide body purposes, would anyone be interested?

Here are examples of the fenders I have talked about...

Thread (all credit goes to Ollie and his build)
    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...36-Overfenders

These guys are changing the E36 game in a good way IMO, and giving enthusiasts more options other than rivet on flares and way too expensive full body kits. I thought I read somewhere in his thread that he MAY start producing for E30's but I can't remember, please correct me if he is.

If anyone has input on this please reply. I would be motivated to try and work on a project like this if the community is supportive and hungry for change!

Those over fenders dont even provide much more tire width, the pictures provided show so wicked stretched tires, more subtle aesthetic thing to me.

I guess now that you say something about it, He does have a real decent ammount of stretch on that tire, but if I am not mistaken, i want to say the rears are (10.5, or 11 in width) so I guess it will add a fair ammount of clearance if you run 10's without any stretch...

Now that being said, there were these ....

If you think that there's a market for them over what's already out there (a good 4-5 different styles last time I checked) then go for it.

For the fronts, you might as well make a whole fender - since it's such a small part.

As for rivets - Most people aren't a fan of exposed hardware. Just my 2 cents.

Im not hating on their product in no way or form, I was just wondering if there was simply an interest in a whole widened fender rather the widened flare...

I wouldn't mind working on a set since my car is down until spring....

This was my initial thought was to fiberglass and reinforce a complete fender (front, rear, and rear for sedans.)

I understand not many like the exposed hardware style of the fenders, but this would be more oriented towards track driving.

I'm down for some extra width
Fitting 275s in a few weeks is going to be fun.

why use rivets when epoxy is better in every way?

As in epoxy it to the vehicle? Or epoxy it together when making the mold?

Probably a dumb question but I have to ask...

I mean, If the design comes out good, I will Just leave it up to the buyer... I don't plan on putting rivet indents like the fender flares from companies (Insert company) have,

You could either use rivets or epoxy...up to you.

                    Rivet on style...

                    Or you could epoxy it..

There's a similar style fender out that your referring to. It looks great and provides plenty of clearance, problem is getting them here in the U.S.

This is EXACTLY what I am talking about...Except they are in Lithuania....I have been searching forever to find kit like this...The main reason I started this thread is because I honestly thought no one has attempted it!

                        Nice!

Well 1k shipped is WAY out of everyones ball park....especially because you can get the m3 fenders to BOLT on for that price....

What would be a reasonable price if I were to produce them? $4-500 +shipping?

I guess I would have to see how much material pricing would be then succumb to a price...

What Would the community pay for a set of wide body fenders?

yeah, epoxied in place. They use glues to bond subframes to firewalls, so it's more than strong enough for body panels.

Ya the buyer would choose application for bonding...me personally I would rivet the heck out of it, I like the style.

$4-500 + what, 150-200 in shipping? I'm down... depending on how wide we're talking here. I'm still considering doing this to my car:

Someone started a thread about them doing this to their e30 somewhere on these forums.... but he wasn't doing the best job and I think he ended up selling the car or something.
