    Diving board bumpers

Hey guys so I have an 85 325e with the terrible big bumpers and have read that plastics don't fit and the best route is to tuck them (covering my face so I don't inhale the fluid). Anyways I'm missing the lower portion of the bumper, the whole part under the diving board bumper, and I'm confused as to what will fit on the car to fill the gap and maybe get rid of the fog lights. I'm going for a rally look so I just want something to clean up the under bumper area. Idk maybe like a skid plate haha idk just some ideas, any help is appreciated.

It looks like all your really missing is the early style plastic lip. Alternatively, there is the is/es valance, which many prefer.

    Early lip:

    Early Is valance:

The es lip looks the same, except without the two lower holes in the center.

In my opinion, the es/is valance looks bad with the front bumper tucked.

The valances are a bit lower up front, and are not the most durable piece in the world. For rally, I would guess that the stock lip in the first picture would be better. Check out irish44j's build thread for some good rally content.

Andy - cool thanks for the info. To find the lower valence what years would work on my car? Just 85 or like pre 88??

I believe anything pre 88 will mount up. There were a few variations of style, that all mount to the same metal valance, iirc.

Only lip that will fit your 85 valance there is the 82-85 lip. It has brake ducts in it like so below. The Euro and US lip are the same thing.

True for 85, but OP's car has an 86/87 valance on it for whatever reason.

"The best route" is not synonymous with "what I think looks good."

Here are a few pics of my current and past E30s to show the difference. Take your pick.

Untucked, clean polished with ES valance.

Tucked and painted with IS valance.

I really like the tucked and painted with the is valence!! So I would need a 86-87 valence?

To each his own. You would need the 86-67 eS valance, or the 87 iS valance.

I like the es valance too. So the part # would be 41-33-1-933-771?

No, that's the metal valance underneath. The part you're looking for is actually called a "spoiler valance" by BMW but is no longer available new. You'll have to find a used one...as will I now. :( Mine broke. Thanks shitty snowstorms.
