my paint job- not E30 my C1500

just thought I would post a few pics of the progress of the new paint job my truck is getting. I am at the body shop doing about 75% of the work myself. Its kinda nice when the owner of the body shop is very good friends with the wifes nephew. Just paying for materials- and that is at cost. These pics are after the first day. On sat. took it apart. bout to head there now, and remove the bed, and march on.
ohh, by the way, its some shitty hard work- going to two-tone it!

Nice. I love bagged chevies. Not much of a fan of the stepside though.
    What color?

its going to be original teal below the body line, and silver above. I dont want to go to crazy and do a complete color change. plust the teal really stands out in a mid 90s kinda way. I cant complain about the stepside, I am in germany, so its not like i had much of a choice. I hate not having an extended cab, or 4 door dually. I am probably the onlyone with a chevy truck within almost 100 miles- except a few soldiers. lucky if you see a pickup in a week.

shave the doors and weld in a roll pan.

not diggin the stepside too much, but thats cool that you are the only pickup truck around your area!

Curious why you kept the handles?

I kept the handles cuz i am in germany. It will not pass thier inspection if it doesnt. has something to do with if you get into an accident, no one can get the door open to help you???? plus, one of my old trucks had shaved handles, what a pain in the ass at times.
dont want a roll pan, I want to be able to tow small trailers with it. plus i dont know much about fiberglass(the bed is glass)- otherwise i would have put my caddy taillights in it.

another update. was a late nighter, and decided to change the color about 15 min before we started to spray. still needs to get the pinstripe. The blue is almost the same as avus blue just brighter.

Good choice of colour. Teal is too dodge caravan.

                          Keep it slideways!!
