M-tech II Vert

I am going to put the M-tech II body panels on my vert but before I waste money I need some clearification on what I need to do with bumpers. Do I need to upgrade to plastic bumpers? Is the M-tech bumpers just covers that go over the plastic bumpers or are they specific M-tech bumpers that replace the plastic bumpers? Can I do a complete swap from diving boards to m-tech II?

So can I go from 1 to 3 or do I have to go from 1 to 2 to 3

you need to convert to plastics front and rear, as the front M-tec II bumper mounts to the LM valance.

you'll need cabrio specific -tec II side skirts, as they're different to the coupe ones. (deeper rocker)

rear, not too sure about this one, I think it was decided that because all the cabrios had lower arches, that there was no trimming required of the bumpers, unlike the coupes - check with someone who has actually converted though, mine came with M-tec II

Also, the lower spoiler is a cover for the valance, but the bumper is a replacement.

In the rear, its all one piece.

So I shouldn't waste my time getting plastic bumpers? I should just get the shocks and other mounting hardware for the plastic bumper and then stick the m-tech stuff on.

nope,
you go m tech 2 all at once, bumpers are integraded under platic skins.
finding rocker panels and the rest of it will be an adventure.

it's all a bolt on scenario, no modificatios.
mt2 rear too, see pic of my Delphin cabrio and plastic bumper swap with Racing Dynamics on the Red one.

m tech 2 bumper it's actually same thing as a plastic bumper but without the black rubber mustach (or so i call it), see first pic.

here's an m tech 2 set up i removed a few days ago.
rear bumper and apron skin are 1 piece, front bumper separates from spoiler.

what you'll need it's a late syle valance to attach fog lights too, then the mt2 spoiler clips onto it., see picture with Red valance (from plastic bumpered car) and Silver mt2 spoiler.

Save the rubber strip under your valance, it will fit onto late style valance with very minor mods (screws)

last pic shows early valance with late style plastic bumper.

they came in a few 90 to 92 cabrios s they are very hard to come by.

try ebay germany or order it through your local dealer.
