    vert wheel arches

SOOOO.... I was wondering, has anyone ever altered the front wheel arches to match the rears on a convertible? As I look at the profile, it made me wonder? What would it look like? YES I KNOW the work required would be a lot, but I wonder what it would look like. Do two fenders, and you get the lines you want and its a bolt on mod. INSIGHT???????????

I must be confused, how do the fenders differ from front to rear. Are you referring to pulling them out so they are the same width?

in my sig, you can see the car has a body line, I am talking about dropping the arch of the front fender. I want to see the front arch lowered to match the rear.

I am wondering if a rear arch could be grafted to a front fender

would probably look just as good with less work to just run drop hats. then you get a little bit of rake and even wheel gap

It's not about wheel gap, it's about fender to body line distance.

I think it would look better to raise the rears up instead of moving the fronts down. Hard to say without seeing it though.

Which do you think looks better?

              Front lowered.

              Rear lowered + car lowered.

I agree, I think it would look better if you raised the rear arch and lower the car

just drive the car the way it is, or buy an early model. This thread is idiotic. If you are asking this question, you have no experience with metal working.

Even earl model rear arches are lower than the fronts. It's more of a BMW thing in general really.

how about offering up some reasonable advice to help OP with his question?

I failed at reading. I thought OP wanted to lift the rear panels up.

Well dam! I don't have expirence working with metal, and I asked because I was "wondering." I was a thought and I never said I had a welder in hand. Thanks for the other replies. I like the 2nd photoshop with rear arches lowered and the entire car lowered

The Cabrio wheel arch is definitely higher which is why the reverse rake drives us all crazy. Lowering it is one way to resolve it but to answer the question...rather than messing with the arch I think you can graft the lower quarter (below the rub rail) on to a coupe or sedan fender and achieve the desired result. You may need to even out the arch.

I'd like to see this happen. I'm not a fan of the "tuck" look, but my front wheel is lip to fender, and being that low my rear wheel looks super tucked because of the arches. if the rear could be fender to lip too I'd be so happy.
