So I was doing my usual visual inspection of the engine bay and noticed something quite shocking... Tow different cracks in the strut tower/tray area on passenger side...
Billy sports aren't exactly super stiff. If you've been bottoming out, it would cause that.
On a different note, that looks downright dangerous to drive on. I would stop driving it ASAP, weld it, and touch up paint it before you suffer catastrophic collapse
i think my e30 has a crack in it like the one in your last picture.
my car had blown shocks when i bought it. i remember driving around my area and it would bottom out.
could also be because i have eibach pro kit
Has everyone confirmed that the metal is separating or is just the seam sealer. By the looks of it, it would appear to have been there for awhile.

That's how mine looked when I tore it apart to fix it. It was a lot worse then what I saw with the car assembled. Ended up going to a bare shell, replacing the entire strut tower/wheel housing, repainting the car, and v8 swapping it. Lol
You really should strip the paint in those areas, get rid of any rusty metal, and weld it back up.
There's nothing to the front of these cars.
With enough rough roads and stiff suspension it's going to fail after 20 years. Take some measurements to see I the strut is moved in.
It's more common on the fuse box side so check under there too.
Honestly I'd pull that fender and see what's going on underneath
