    Early Model Rear Valence Help

    Hey everyone,
    Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am a bit confused on how to install a late model valence on an early. I was planning on getting euro bumpers but wanted to install a rear valence/apron to cover up my muffler and spare tire well. However, someone was telling me that you have to saw off and weld a late model valence onto the early model car?

    If someone could just shed some light on how it all works that would be much appreciated.

      A late model rear valance will never look quite right with a Euro bumper.

      But that info is correct. The late model valance needs to be cut from the donor car. To attach it to your early model you can weld it, rivet it, or screw it on. However you prefer to do it.

          go to sun valley pick ur part they have a schwars late model ready to be cut. someone already took the bumpers so its just ready to be hacked off

            I've done this. BE AWARE that the rear valance on a late-model car is not just a skirt or apron that hangs down, it's part of the unibody of the car. It's all one piece of the trunk floor and entire rear lower section of the car. Just cutting the valance off the car is not an option, you have to remove the entire section of unibody behind the rear wheel wells and about half of the trunk floor/spare tire well with it. You'll then have to cut and chop out all of that inner material to turn that valance into an apron. A good Sawzall with a package of blades, and a cut-off wheel are what you'll need.

                So, no hacking required, just screw it or rivet it on the early model....right?
