    Trunklid misaligned?

While doing some polishing on my trunklid today, I noticed that the DS corner at the rear windshield sits way low below the DS rear quarter panel, in the cutout for the trunk, as does the whole side of the trunklid, but not as much. The PS corner sits about flush, but the side of the trunklid sits slightly higher than the top of the PS quarter panel. Also, in the last few months, I've noticed that my trunklid sticks when I open it, so I think the whole trunklid might be out of alignment. Is this possible, and are you able to adjust it, kind of like the hood? It has a lot of play side-to-side if I grab the two arms and move it back and forth, is it supposed to? In 10 years of E30 building and ownership, I've never experienced this. Did something get loose or tweaked? I find it incredibly hard to believe I never noticed this before.

It is so obvious..it screams in your sig misaligned.

I want to know too as I hope to swap in a plain AW2 trunk lid.

There should be a threaded rubber bump stop on each corner of the lid so you can adjust the height of the corners when closed.

So that helped with the height along the length of the rear quarter/top of the fender on that DS edge, but the corner up near the rear windshield still sits down super low, like nearly down flat against the rear windshield lockstrip.

The hinge side mechanisms vary...ie my early Cabrio has a Ds gas strut so it tends to torque, my late Cabrio had 2 gas struts and my 84 doesn't have any. If you are looking to increase the gap front to rear I believe the lid will slide on the hinges if you loosen the bolt. If it's just sitting too low in the back then I'm not sure and my cars aren't around for reference.
