    Badgeless FTW

One more thing checked off the list, and one more thing finished before the PNW E30 Picnic this sunday. I've been wanting to debadge my trunk since I bought the damn car, but never did for one reason or another. Damn, it was easy. I just used some heavy-duty sewing thread to slice it off, then used Goof-Off to get the sticky crap off, hit the whole area with some cutting compound, and waxed the whole section. Looks like it was never there.

Now, I did this for 3 reasons. First, it looks a lot better, IMO. Second, that damn 325 es badge is like a foot long, and third, it doesn't say 325es anymore.

Hey, a little denial never hurt anyone, right? :D

Looks good Josh! I recently removed my "e30" badge from my trunk, looks a lot cleaner!

I always thought those "e30" badges were kind of chincey looking, anyway.

i debadges mine... it looks bad, my trunk is faded abit, and with the badge off it looks like "ghost" lettering.... oh well, looks great on yours!

Mine had that kind of "ghost lettering" left behind also, that's why I used the cutting compound, it stripped it right off.

I think it looks very clean! I'd love to but the paint underneath mine is fucked, it'll have to wait until I do a full respray.

Clean removal, but I am never a fan of badgeless. The back just looks too blank without them.

On the contrary I think losing the badge is one of the best subtle mods you can do for cheap on our cars. Well done Josh.

Just one more piece of chrome I had to get rid of. I thought about painting it black like TJ's, but on my car, it wouldn't even show up. So I just said hell with it, and took the whole thing off.

I just think it makes the back of the car look much more uniform and symmetrical, which is great for such a boxy car. But I've always thought that most cars, regardless of the make, look a lot better without the model badges. From an aesthetic standpoint, they make the back of the car look "lopsided", i.e. having a large chrome badge on one side of the rear end makes that side look more cluttered and "heavier" than the other.

Getting the 318is where the only piece of chrome is the kidneys Ive learned that less chrome = ftw. 15 year old weathered chrome always looks like shit.

You should put your Nurburgring sticker back there to fill the emptiness.

Quiet, Mr. "I heart cute little snails".

I was actually thinking about putting this where the badge was, but I'm not sure. I bought it, and now I'm not sure where I want to put it. I was thinking maybe in the interior somewhere.
