    Cracked Strut Tower

I am at looking at purchasing a 1991 325i. The problem is... there is some cracking on the strut tower. Reading elsewhere on the forums it looks like I will need to weld from underneath but I am not sure how serious it is. I would like to rally/autocross the car so that part could take some abuse in the future. Anyone know if this is worth getting fixed or should I stay away from it all together? Will there be alignment or any other issues in the future?

I will probably call some shops on Monday to get some pricing.

That doesn't necessarily make it ok. Have you seen this become more problematic or will some good welding solve the issue?

You need to reread what you quoted.

        Go find another car.

If you are building a dedicated auto/rally cross car and know how to fabricate metal and weld very well this is fixable. If you have tons of money go for it.

If neither of those are true walk away.
