pre-face lift question

I am in the process of gathering parts for the face lift and I was wondering if I can use parts off a 89 325i BUT with DBs (divingboards) for my 84 eta to prep for the face lift. The 89 e30 was one of the late production from 88 before it changed over to the plastic bumpers. I know I would need to get the plastic bumpers from somewhere else but can I use the shocks from those?

Almost positive they use the regular diving board shocks which are a lot longer, I think you're gonna need plastic bumper shocks too

that's what I was thinking? I mean it would only make sense cause of the DBs.

The bumper shocks are specific to either the DBs or plastics. Not sure exactly what the question is here
