Show me your painted engine parts

Hi, your opinion is greatly appreciated, as im stuck..

getting ready to powder-coat and or hydro-dipp my valve cover, intake manifold, and sum other parts like t-stat housing but cant decide on a color combo.

I have Brilliantrot Red e30, and was originally going to do wrinkle red powder coat on both. but i also like the wood grain on the valve cover, and shiny chrome like finish for the manifold.

    thanks for your time.

Not a fan of the wood finish, what about wrinkle red with polished lettering, and chrome manifold?

I asked for wrinkle red when I got my intake manifold and valve cover powdercoated and got glossy red. They had production delays for over a week, so what should have been 2 weeks turned into 3.5 weeks and by then I didn't care I just wanted my parts back.

The upside to smooth and glossy wrinkle coat is that it does clean up very easily. Dirt gets trapped in a winkle coat.

I am more of a fan of stock, or close to stock.

Maybe a dark gunmetal on the intake, black with the reliefs shinned up on the Valve cover..

Colored or chromed parts on a BMW engine just screams Riceboy to me. I plan on satin black for my valve cover with the bars and BMW lettering sanded. This is philosophically correct given the valve cover treatment on later BMW engines.
